Dvs Munition Ct Black Nubuck with white vulcanized sole
Following the reading of the test DVS Tim Gavin from Oliv, I decided to buy some DVS and they had the Munition CT at the shop. Therefore I purchased them... and rode with them .... and today I am testing them. You've probably already seen these shoes and you will find elements you've probably already seen on other models such as the vulcanized sole or the Bruise Control.
The Shoe:
Here the Dvs Munition Ct Black Nubuck ,I was dreaming about testing them from the first day I saw them... and the white vulcanized sole really pleased me from the beginning !!!!!!
Oulala ... I come back from the skateshop ... I open the package and as usual with DVS:
- DVS stencilled with the logo,
- very good sticker,
- and the DVS keyholder.
Here the box and the first wearing.
The inner sole:
is super simple and black with a DVS logo. Under this sole we see the bruise control as on all new DVS (from the last 2 / 3 years)
The tongue : It is the same color as the vulcanized sole on the sides. The name of the model and the size are written on it with all the usual blablabla.
The outersole:
It is vulcanized as almost all emerging shoes these days, I do not know if it is because of all the converses we are seing at every corner of the street though! "Whatever". That being said, I really do not know what is the purpose of these vulcanized soles but I think it grips super well and it must be super strong ... And if it is combined with suede there is nothing better. To compare, check out the test of the DVS Tim Gavin Original Intent!
The materials:
The sole is vulcanized, so there's gum in it.
Moreover, there is suede almost all over the shoe. Thus you have a better grip for flippy tricks. However, there is no suede on the vulcanized sole as on DVS Tim Gavin. Too bad! According to Oliv it was looking good.
There are laces protections : on the front, on both sides and also around the tongue but is not used because I did not fit the laces so high! Nevertheless, the laces protections from the bottom are equipped with seams that lie between the two holes for the laces , to ensure that the laces protections will not leave (see macro pic at bottom of the article). It works .... just for a while
The price:
59 € with a discount at my skateshop. Brand new they must cost around 75 €. You can find them on the ride spirit website here
And also for 75 € on the Snowbeach website here
Other models:
In this serie, there are many different models. Below, some examples but some are missing and you'll find them on the DVS website.
Then there is also the Munition CT Original Intent, which is made on the same basis as well as the pro model shoes like the Taylor CT, which quite looks like the Munition Ct but the style depends on the colors. There was also the older version of the Munition Ct, the munition (photo below the models). So many different versions of this shoe!
Mouse on the pictures for colors / names of the model;
Watch out! These are DVS munition but not CT! Check out the differences of the shape... Rounder on the front.
And here are the DVS Munition Black Nubuck camaflage version. These are the ones Dam's testing at the moment.
The test:
I started riding about 4 times for one hour. In my garage though, because the weather wasn't allowing me to go outside.
From the very first tricks you feel that the shoe is not too harsh, on the contrary, we get used to it very quickly even if we had a pair of completely soft and fucked up shoes before. Especially me who had Circa with unvulcanized sole with holes until the inner sole (wich was signing up their death).
Therefore they are very quickly operational and even after having spent 5 days in England without riding, I started to land tricks wich I haven't done for over 2 months, such as nollie-heelflip back and front !
I was very impressed at the very first ollie because you immediately take off without forcing. Same for heelflip because with my old shoes I could only land ¾ of a heelflip while I can now pop much higher !
The sole looks very strong as you can see above the photo of my shoes after one month of ride .... and it looks like the same as the DVS shoes that were recently tested.
I think they will last for a while regarding the materials used.
Here a view from above 1 after month of use.
Review:
These shoes are what you need if you were owning shoes that were blown up from everywhere . The vulcanized sole is very soft from the beginning. I recommend it to any rider who do not know what shoe to chose as these ones adapt very quickly to your feet.
The only problem is that the sole was used faster than I thought after seeing other DVS tests!
So after 4 weeks of ride, despite the rain and shitty weather, we'll say 3 weeks:
The laces hold very well, I have not changed them and the shoe still has no hole yet!
